Bone broth in Mill Valley

The one warm thing on the menu

Marin mornings are often foggy, and not everyone wants something frozen at 9am. So next to the açaí and the soft serve, there's one thing that comes out hot.

Bone broth is simmered much longer than ordinary stock. The long cook pulls collagen out of the bones, which is what gives it body: it feels richer than soup, and it sets like jelly when it's cold. Ours comes in chicken or beef, with fresh vegetables, savory herbs and spices, finished with lemon to keep it bright and cayenne for a little warmth at the back of your throat.

Each cup has 10 grams of protein. People order it coming off a hike or a run, on a cold walk along the Bay Trail, or when they just want something easy. It is also very good next to a Spam musubi.

Chicken or beef. 10 grams of protein. Warm.
